Trader Joe's croissants

I thought from time to time I might post one of my "favorite things". If Oprah can do it, why can't I? Not that I'm comparing myself to Oprah (please don't smite me).

I'm talking about some of my favorite store-bought items I enjoy when I don't have the time or inclination to make something from scratch. My first such post is this, frozen croissants from Trader Joe's. You just set them out overnight to rise and then in the morning, bake for about 20 minutes. Presto--warm, flaky croissants!

The scuttlebutt on these is that they're made by the same French pastry chef who makes croissants for Williams-Sonoma (allegedly!), only Trader Joe's are way cheaper. Like I said, it's just a rumor and I have no proof to back that up, so you didn't hear it from me. By the way, these also come in chocolate!

My question - how do we get a Trader Joe's in Lynchburg? They sure look delicious.

I think you'll have to ask Trader Joe's that question. I do know you can order Williams-Sonoma's frozen croissants (but it will cost you)!

So sorry I'm frustrating those of you without Trader Joe's nearby. Hopefully one will come to your neck of the woods soon and you'll be ready with frozen croissants on your shopping list.

I can tell we will have to make a run to Trader Joe's when we visit. Will they last the trip home?

Sure, just bring a cooler. You can keep them in our freezer and then we'll send you home with plenty of ice packs.

Susan- be sure Judie picks up a package for us.
